CALL FOR PAPERS

  

The New Jersey Council of Teachers of English seeks articles for its annual publication, the New Jersey English Journal, a peer-reviewed journal.


Spring 2013 Issue:

Teaching English/Language Arts in and for the 21st Century: What and How

 

We are looking for articles that consider the needs and possibilities for learning and teaching in the 21st century (curriculum, instruction and assessment):


What do we teach?

How do we approach teaching and learning in the 21st century?

What roadblocks are ahead, and how do we maneuver through/around them.

  

Suggested article length: 7-12 pages, double-spaced. Modern Language Association citation style.

 

We also welcome visual and poetry submissions.

 

E-mail submissions as a MS Word attachment to Editor Dana Maloney: dana.maloney@gmail.com. Include “NJCTE journal submission” in your subject line.

 

Deadline: December 1, 2012

 

The New Jersey Council of Teachers of English welcomes manuscripts that address pedagogical as well as theoretical concerns. We reserve the right to edit manuscripts to fit style and pagination. Manuscripts will not be returned.

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • subject line should read “NJCTE submission”
  • e-mail submissions should be sent to dana.maloney AT gmail.com (using the @ symbol), and should be attached as a Word or .rtf file AND pasted into the email itself.
  • the document should follow MLA formatting for all in-text documentation and works cited, using double-spacing throughout the document
  • the document should not indicate your name or affiliation EXCEPT on the cover page of the manuscript
  • along with the manuscript, please submit a 1 paragraph biography we can use if we publish your manuscript
  • 7-12 pages in length (double-spaced) exclusive of Works Cited
