"Give a man a fish, and he has a meal for one night. Teach a man to fish, and he has a meal for a thousand nights."
Well, what about teaching those who teach? Does that provide a meal for a thousand times a thousand nights?
At least that's our theory at the NJCTE. What we try to do is help our fellow teachers in their endeavors. It's an extremely rewarding experience.
But we can't do it alone. And we're certainly not the bearers of all the wisdom there is to share in our profession. You have a lot to share with other teachers as well, and that's why we're asking you to take part in our organization. Share your wisdom, your gifts, your enthusiasm, your experience, and yes, your frustrations. Join us at our regular executive board meetings and get more involved.
